I came across these statues of the terracottan army whilst taking a walk in the chinese gardens in Singapore.
It’s such a harmonious and serene location, that you could just relax, either within the seven-storey pagoda or by the lake. The pagoda offers a glorious view of the gardens in its lake side settings, with its tranquil pavilions, arched bridges and Chinese courtyards.
The unique character of the Chinese gardens has its roots in Chinese philosophy, most notably Taoism.
Whilst I was there, preparations were being made for the Chinese New Year and the whole garden was ablaze with pretty lighted lanterns. Decorations were being hung and statues being meticulously positioned in various places. A dozen or more of these statues consisted of these Terracottan figures which were life sized.

If you are thinking of going to Singapore, I highly recommend that you go to Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari if you have a day spare. Its well worth it and its an amazing place.
No cages, no glass….you can see animals roaming as if they were in the jungle…plus a great place to take plenty of shots without worrying about those annoying bars…
…don’t worry..its still perfectly safe.
Tigers are the most beautiful creatures in the world.
I was about 6 metres away from this huge untamed creature and the only thing seperating us people was a large dugout area.
He was observing us all very attentively, while each and every step we took was under close scrutiny, monitored carefully with his eyes scanning from side to side.
He then started walking across from left to right as if to say this is my kingdom and laying his boundaries for us all to see.
A day before I was due to leave Singapore, I made a visit to the Chinese Gardens.

My only regret is that I couldn’t stay during the Chinese New Year festivities.
When entering Jurong Bird Park, these flock of flamingos are one of the first things you will see. All huddled around each other in their flocks, they peacefully and gracefully glide around, in and out of the lake, either in search of food or curiously looking at the many visitors passing by.
The Jurong BirdPark is a world-famous bird zoo wherein there are specimens of magnificent bird life from all around the world, including these flock of 1001 long-legged lovelies of Flamingo Lake.
