“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.”;
-Albert Einstein
An older shot I had on my machine from an ancient camera which I thought might as well upload. It was taken with a Canon Ixus II and this is pretty much how it came out of the camera. I had to clone out a few people as they just wouldn’t move and I didn’t have the patience to wait at that time back then, as I would have missed my metro back to my hotel.
The congregation of people here every night, provides a wonderful atmosphere for all. Everyone just sits outside the numerous steps leading upto this church, either drinking wine, playing drums or with the arms around their loved ones.
I didn’t get a chance to go inside the church as by the time I got there they were closing up for the night.
For anyone who has been here, its one long uphill walk. My legs ached for days afterwards.
As I gathered outside in the queue to get my ticket to take me to the summit of the Eiffel Tower, a series of angry looking clouds were fast approaching.
It was cold enough being on the ground, but when I got to the top…..Jesus Christ….it was mega mega cold. The wind was so intense and strong that when I walked round each corner, it was like I was doing a Michael Jackson moonwalk.
The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.
Planted right in the centre of a 10 exit roundabout, (we saw one car circling the roundabout 20 times, he found it impossible to get to an exit with the mayhem of cars there…seriously), its quite an amazing structure. Standing atop it, it somehow gives everyone an almighty sense of importance and freedom…plus the view is fantastic..watching all those cars going round and unable to get out is almost funny.
The whole atmosphere on the Champs-Élysées is superb. Street entertainers run around performing tricks, playing with their instruments, as waiters rush in + out with about 10 plates of food all somehow balanced in their hands.
